Who is this Man that Christians are so Excited About?

His name is Jesus. He was born in Bethlehem.

When Mary His mother was engaged to Joseph, before they were married or had any kind of physical relationship, Mary was pregnant (Matthew 1:18). The Bible made this clear, because Joseph was not the father of Mary's baby. God was the Father. If Joseph had been Jesus's father, then Jesus would not have been able to die for our sins, because He would not have been perfect. Because of Adam's disobedience, the seed of man is damaged. This means that every baby born to man is a sinner and needs to be saved. Those nice folks and those not-so-nice ones are all sinners and in need of a Savior.

In those days Mary, as an unmarried woman expecting a baby, would have been stoned to death, so Joseph decided that he would break off the engagement discreetly. However, an Angel spoke to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Joseph, fear not to take Mary for your wife, for the baby which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins. ...Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God with us (Matthew 1:20,21, 23)."

The Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel (Isaiah 7:14).

Who Am I? A Sinner Saved by Grace

All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

What to do

  1. Repent (Acts 3:19).
  2. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31).
  3. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. You will be saved (Romans 10:9).
