Psalm 119 verse 9 says "How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to His word." As we read the scriptures and ask ourselves the same question while reflecting on the answer, we often try to do good. However, we should ensure that it's not just done for others to see. Ephesians 6 verse 6 makes it clear that good works shouldn't be done with eye-service to please others, but as bond servants of Christ who are doing the will of God. Not in our own strength but by the power of God.
Ephesians 6 verse 11 says to put on the whole armor of God that we may be able to withstand the wiles of the devil. We cannot stand alone, we need Christ's guidance, strength and power. Ephesians 6 verse 16 states that "Above all taking the shield of faith, which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one." Ephesians 6 verse 17 -18 warns us to "Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication for all the saints."
Listen to the word of GOD, read and digest it. Don't harden your hearts against God in a breath that could be your last. God holds each breath you take, so trust in Him and obey His commands. Don't be stiff-necked because Jesus loves you. If you aren't saved, ask the Lord Jesus Christ to come into your hearts and save you now. That's the only real prayer that an unsaved person can give that God will gladly answer. He is ready, willing and able to save you.
