Joseph was told to take Mary home, and do not put her away, because she would have a Son send by God to saved His people from there sin. Israel was part of the Roman Empire, ruled by the Emperor Caesar Augustus. Soon after Joseph and Mary were married, the Roman Emperor Commanded, that all the citizens should return to their own home town to be registered, in a census. Both Joseph and Mary went up from the town of Nazareth, Even though Mary was about to give birth, they could find no place to stay in Bethlehem.
As angels heralds of the new born saviour but they were send to the Shepherds who were keeping watch over their flock, Glory to God in the highest, peace and good will to men. John came to make the way strait the path for the Lord. Many testified of His coming, They had no crib for Him, so He was Laid upon hay in a manger, which was the trough from which the cattle eat. As the shepherds tend their sheep, suddenly, a great light shone upon them, and an angel of the Lord appeared, they were frightened. Be not afraid; for Behold I Bring you, good news of great joy, which shall be to all people, for there is born to you, this day in Bethlehem, the city of David, a Saviour, Who IS Christ The Lord. You will find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. Then they heard the angels singing, Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace, good and will to ward men. The shepherds immediately set out as the angels song. Then after much traveling; they found Joseph, Mary, and the Baby. Mary thought about the strange things that was happening. But in her heart she knew this was God Son.
